Under the protection of the giant umbrella ...
The great umbrella ... or canopy, whatever you call it. I heard it's suppose to keep temperature to ard 28degree celcius.
Well, in real life, I've been working under the great shield for the past 10 yrs, protecting me from economic crisis, retrenchment and whatsoever. Nonetheless, 2 days ago, 14 April 2006, ya, it was good Friday, marks the day I did my last guard under the service of RSN.
Yes, the umbrella shield you from hot sun, rainy day or even lightning strike, however, call it human nature or what, one tends to get bored and tired after all these years of peace. I start to feel the organisation has deteriorated in terms of management and direction, is it just me or is it for real?
True, my future is now exposed to rain, sun, storm etc, and one day I may suffer, but I shall not regret cos I dun wanna leave the world without exposing to the elements. God made everyone for a purpose, I believe he made me not to serve the RSN for life, I have also chunked aside the selection letter from the police force cos I've decided I want to travel without the great umbrella from now on.
Nearly 10 yrs back, I listen in awe and curiosity why one of my senior said this in his farewell speech: "I'll miss nothing here(Navy), except my friends and my colleagues."! 4 days ago, in our gathering, I borrowed his famous sentence and delivered it to my friends, fully empathizing why my senior says that.(eh, though I do not sound as harsh as he did lah... haha!)
